Filtration

A mechanical sieve is often the first step in a waste water treatment plant. Filtration is essential in order to remove suspended solids and debris from the waste water.

Flotation

The flotation technique is also known as Dissolved Air Flotation, DAF in short.

With this technique, using tiny bubbles, especially oil, grease, sludge and suspended solids are removed.

The various AAQUA DAF models have been adapted to different types of treatments as well as types of waste water.

The AAQUA team has years of experience using this technique.

Plate Settlers Oil separator

AAQUA-SED Sedimentation units or settlers can be equipped with or without platepacks.  The use of one or the other (model and shape) is determined by different variables such as :

  • The settling rate of the particles
  • The concentration of suspended solids
  • The type of sediment
  • The required effluent quality
  • The flowrate

To increase the efficiency and/or settlingrate, a coagulation/flocculation system can be placed upstream of the sedimentation unit.

An AAQUA-FAT oil separator is equiped with a surface skimmer to eliminate te oil and grease on the surface.

Physical Chemical

A physico-chemical treatment is often a combination of pH adjustment, coagulation and flocculation.

The coagulant is often FeCl3 (Ferric Cloride) or an aluminum salt and as a flocculant a cationic or anionic polymer is used.

For the mixing of these chemicals in the waste water a stirred flocculator or pipe-flocculator can be used. 

Aaqua offers in its product range the necessary equipment ranging from measuring equipment, metering pumps, polymer make up station, flocculants etc.

  • prior to a flotation unit
  • prior to a sedimentation unit

Biological Treatment

The aerobic biological treatment is often a crucial step in the purification process of the treated water in order to be able to discharge on surface water.

Over the years AAQUA has become one of the specialist firms using a Sequencing Batch Reactor as aerobic treatment.

The AAQUA-SBR has been proven effective and stable in various industries .

The benefits are great. The control and supervision of this method are very simple, and no clarifier is needed.

Thanks to the specific control and the necessary adjustments the suspended solids concentration in the effluent is minimalised.

Sludge Treatment

Sludge treatment can be performed in several ways, from gravitary dewatering to mechanical thickening.

For the implementation of a sludge treatment there is a variety of techniques.

Heat Recovery

Reuse of waste heat is very profitable and additionally also ideal to reduce CO2 emissions.

AAQUA has now developed two new technologies:

Through the BLUE HEat Recovery Operation, or simply BLUE HERO concept (patent pending), the wastewater of your company is used as a heat source. Cold process water is heated to 60°C. Given the huge energy savings, the payback of such energy investment is between 2 to 3 years. Taking into account rising energy prices you will notice that  the Blue Hero concept is not only durable but also extremely interesting!

The Blue Tower technology uses  the condensation energy out of vapors, even dirty, and reuses this energy to heat your water to 90°C rather than let it escape through the chimney! By condensing this vapor the largest "odor problem", which is often associated with contaminated vapors, is also solved.
