The AAQUA-SBR (Sequenching Batch Reactor) is an aerobic biological waste water treatment in a low loaded reactor. The already pre-processed waste water is brought into a large reactor where it comes into contact with the micro-organisms (active sludge, M.O.) and where oxygen is injected in a controlled manner. These micro-organisms convert the polution into carbon dioxide (CO2) and new biomass. This process requires a lot of oxygen wich is injected with different aeration techniques. The nitrogenbonds are also converted into nitrate (nitrification). An appropriated process control convert this nitrate into nitrogengas (denitrification).
The whole process is PLC controlled and the operation of the valves and motors is very simple. All process variables can easily be adjusted with the Touch Screen. The most important process variables are registered on a Logger.
The advantages of a AAQUA-SBR are:
The amount of oxygen in the aeration tank is continuously monitored and controls the aerator in such a way that the oxygen level is kept at a certain level and no energy is wasted.
The necessary amount of oxygen is injected into the tank with a surface-aerator. This is a very simple and reliable aeration technique.
The mixing of the waste water and the oxygen is achieved with a rotating, hyperbolic-shaped body in the center of the tank. Underneath this body, air is injected with a surpressor during the aeration stage.
This type of aeration is an highly energy-efficient solution.
Additional mixing units are not necessary.
Dry-mounted pumps provide the mixing of waste water and the air (supplied by a surpressor) inside the jet-system. The concept itself and the ingenious choice of materials, makes the Jet-aeration highly reliable wich is already proven throughout the years. All moving parts are dry-mounted wich makes them easy accessible for maintenace.
Energy consumption is quite high.
The oxygen is injected into the tank with a bottom aeration system. A blower pressurises the air and blows the air through the pipe diffusers or disc diffusers, mounted on a stainless steel tubular grid at the bottom of the aeration tank. Those membranes are micro-perforated and this creates fine air bubbles and a large contact surface between air and waste water.
This aeration system is very popular, because of the high efficiency and the low energy consumption.
The required amount of oxygen is injected into the tank with a submersible aerator. Depending on the depth of the tank, the air is simply drawn in or is blown in by means of a surpressor. This type of aeration is very simple and silent.
A mixer keeps the active sludge (micro-organism) in suspension and creates a good contact with the freshly supplied waste water.
The "floating decanter" or "floating overflow weir" makes it possible to discharge the upper layer of treated waste water during the settling stage of the Sequenching Batch Reactor. A flexible and valves connect "the floating decanter" to the clear water tank or even directly to the public sewer system.
With the Aaqua design, this floating decanter will not discharge a possible floating scum.
