Belt presses are reliable and robust sludge dewatering machines that require little energy.
The pressed cake is relatively well-drained.
Often, a belt filter press is mounted in cascade afte a dewatering table.
Belt Filter presses are mostly used for biosludge dewatering.
In a belt press, the mixture of water and sludge is pressed between 2 filterbelts. In order to achieve a good separation (dry sludge and clear filtrate) it is necessary to add a poly-electrolyte.
The liquid leaks through the filterbelts, the sludge remains between the filterbelts and is further dewatered by pressing it between additional rollers. The control of the supply pumps as well as all the safety features are fully integrated in the program of the PLC-controller.
Sludge with a low dry solid content is usually processed by means of a dewateringdrum or on a dewateringtable. This procedure increase the efficiency of the belt press.
The belt press is also continuously sprayed on in order to prevent the filterbelts from clogging.
