Venturi channel

AAQUA offers different types of venturi channels (venturi flumes) for flow measuring on discharge of waste water.

The proposed venturi channels are prefabricated in glassfiber reïnforced polyester with gelcoat.

Two models of venturi channels are possible:

Venturi channel with a flat bottom:

• Type I : 0-30 m³/h
• Type II: 0-60 m³/h
• Type III: 0-90 m³/h
• Type IV: 0-180 m³/h

Venturi channel with parabolic shaped channel for very precise measuring even at low flows

• Type I: 0.21 - 21 m³/h
• Type II: 0.432 -43.2 m³/h
• Type III: 0.9 - 90 m³/h

On site this venturi channel has to be placed in concrete. At zero flow the venturi channel must drain completely.

The flow rate through a venturi channel can be measured via the height of the water level. The venturi channel is also provided with a measuring pit. In this measuring pit it is easy io measure the water height on "stable water".

This level measuring can be done with:

• a bubble flow module. It uses an internal air compressor to force a metered amount of air through a bubble line submerged in the flow channel. By measuring the pressure needed to force air bubbles out of the line, the water level is accurately determined.
• A ultrasonic level measuring.

The controllers of this measuring equipment have a totaliser function and provide output signals for extra data processing purposes.
